Ground Floor: The property is all on the ground floor, has oil central heating and comprises: Lounge: Spacious with open fire, 42" Freeview TV, DVD player, CD player and double sofa bed. Kitchen/dining room: Large with tiled floor, electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Sun room. Utility room: With washing machine and tumble dryer. Bedroom 1: Beamed with super king size bed, 32" TV and en-suite with bath, shower and WC. Bedroom 2: Beamed with twin beds and en-suite with shower over bath and WC. . All oil, electric, bed linen and towels included. Initial fuel for open fire provided. Travel cot and highchair available on request. Wi-Fi.. Garden with sitting-out area and furniture. Parking (2 cars). No smoking. NB: 2 steps in garden.. With stunning views across Loch Linnhe to the Port Appin lighthouse and the Morven hills beyond, this beautiful detached stone cottage is deceptively spacious and has been lovingly restored. The Old Smithy is set in its own garden in the pretty village of Port Appin and is ideally located for those wishing to explore the west coast of Scotland and the Inner Isles. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery this is a popular area with walkers and cyclists. There are regular passenger ferries from the village to the Island of Lismore, Castle Stalker is nearby and the cycle track (bikes can be hired locally) from Ballachulish to Oban can be reached by crossing the Jubilee footbridge just over a mile away. Oban, a small bustling fishing town with an array of shops, bars and restaurants is a half hour drive, and from the harbour you can take a ferry trip to Mull, Staffa or Iona, all with an abundance of wildlife. Bonawe Iron Works, Cruachan Hollow Mountain, Oban Distillery, Inveraray Jail and the Sea Life Centre all make for great days out. Glencoe and Fort William are also easily accessible and offer excellent walking, mountain biking, climbing and skiing. Take the Jacobite Steam Train from Fort William across the Glenfinnan Viaduct as depicted in the Harry Potter Movie, or ride the Gondola up Anoch Mor Mountain. Other outdoor activities in the area include horse riding, diving, sailing, canoeing, golf, mountain biking and fishing. There are plenty of famous castles, beautiful gardens and historical sites to visit. Port Appin has a small village shop, post office and two restaurants.
