This charming, white-washed, thatched holiday cottage, at the end of a row, dates back to 1750 and is set on the main road in the village of Chillington, which has an award-winning, dog friendly pub. In the heart of South Devonm, only 9 miles from Salcombe, the property is pet friendly, with an enclosed garden and a large dog crate available if required. A superb location for exploring the many beaches, coves and pretty villages dotted along this stretch of South Devon. Only 2 miles away is Torcross, with the sea on one side of the road and the freshwater lagoon of Slapton Ley on the other. The local estuary town of Kingsbridge has a variety of shops, a museum, cinema and sports centre. There are a wide selection of beaches in the area, including dog friendly ones. Salcombe can be reached by either road or by a small passenger ferry once in east Portlemouth. Boating trips, hire boats and diving trips can be arranged in the Salcombe/Kingsbridge estuary. Visit historic Dartmouth with its bustling harbour, castle, contemporary art galleries and boutiques. In the opposite direction is Plymouth with something everyone, including the historical port with its Navy connections, aquarium, theatre, shops and museums. The breathtaking scenery of Dartmoor National Park is only 40 minutes away from its southern tip of Ivybridge. There are many National Trust properties, stately homes and interesting gardens within a short drive. Local shop/post office 200 yards, pub 150 yards.
