Garden Cottage is an attractive, semi-detached period property with chocolate box appeal, both inside and out. It is situated on one of the oldest roads in Hornsea, just a pleasant 5-minute stroll from the seafront and the town centre. The cottage itself is over 200-years old and together with the adjoining coach house formed part of a large estate belonging to one of Hull’s ship building families. The property is spacious and has been tastefully decorated throughout, with a cosy living room boasting a bay window, as well as both bedrooms benefitting from a TV and en-suite facilities. A gated driveway and outdoor seating area provide a private spot to sit and relax. A five minute walk takes you to the seafront, with its pretty promenade and sandy beaches. There is also a boat compound with launching facilities for boats and jet skis. Hornsea Leisure Centre is located on the seafront where you will find a heated swimming pool, gymnasium, squash courts, café and other facilities. The cottage is also only a short walk from Hornsea Mere, Yorkshire’s largest freshwater lake which gave the area its name, ‘Lakeland by the Sea’. Here you will find rowing and sailing boats and an opportunity to see some wonderful wildlife. Hall Garth Park is nearby, from here you could wander through the tree-lined park to the town centre, with its museum, small, independent shops, restaurants and cafés. There is also a larger selection of shops at Hornsea Freeport located at the other side of the town, with a children’s soft play area here to keep the little ones entertained. As Hornsea is the finishing point for the Trans Pennine Way, the cottage provides the perfect base for cycling. There is a well maintained trail by the seafront which takes you along the old railway line, providing a largely level route with various adjoining countryside cycle tracks. Hornsea is an unspoilt seaside town with an unassuming charm. It has everything you need for a seaside holiday and is close to the busier resorts of Bridlington and Scarborough. You could drive or catch a bus to the beautiful market town of Beverley, or visit Hull, the UK’s City of Culture 2017 and home to The Deep Aquarium. There are also various stately homes and gardens to visit within half and hours’ drive and the Yorkshire Wolds, made famous by artist David Hockney, are also close by. Shop 300 yards, pub and restaurant 500 yards. Free WiFi
