The delightful dales town of Pateley Bridge offers a great combination of pubs, restaurants, varied shopping, all within 50 yards and the acclaimed Nidderdale Museum is within walking distance. The valley of Nidderdale has a wealth of places to eat, from hearty village pubs and cafes to a Michelin star restaurant, all within 5 miles. The Old Clockmakers is well placed for exploring the Yorkshire Dales National Park, both on foot and by car. Walkers will enjoy hiking along the Nidderdale Way, a circular route that passes through the town, or for a more leisurely flat stroll, walk the banks of the River Nidd, upstream to a local pub. At the head of Nidderdale, set in a wildly rugged landscape, lie 2 reservoirs, the largest masonry stone dams in the world, popular with bird watchers and walkers, whilst being easily accessible by car. Howstean Gorge offers a range of outdoor activities, with the nearby Brimham Rocks, managed by the National Trust, where you can see the effects of raw nature upon the local gritstone.
