Built in 1790, Manor Farm House East is a lovely semi-detached property situated in the village of Flixton, and makes a perfect base from which to visit the east coast, the North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Wolds. Opposite the owner’s home, the property benefits from an enclosed courtyard ideal for children and pets. Cayton Bay is the nearest beach, and Filey and Scarborough are just a short drive away. The beaches down the east coast are large sandy beaches and have won many awards over the years, perfect for a family seaside holiday. The RSPB bird sanctuary is just a few minutes away and is a popular destination attracting visitors worldwide. Here you will find thousands of migrating seabirds perched on the cliffs. It is the most accessible place to view the birds as there are several view points perched on the clifftops. There are puffins, gannets, kittiwakes and much more. For those of you who enjoy walking, the Cleveland Way travels down the east coast from Whitby to Filey with stunning scenery all the way down. Near to the farmhouse, you also have the Wolds Way, a beautiful walk across the rolling Yorkshire Wolds stopping off at market towns and ancient villages. Scarborough is one of the earliest seaside resorts and reports go back to the 17th century of people travelling to Scarborough for the spa waters and the coastal air. Today it is a very vibrant seaside resort with plenty to do for all age groups. For children, there is the Alpamare Waterpark with its wave pools and chutes, Scarborough SEA LIFE Sanctuary and not forgetting Peasholm Park, where you can hire pedalos and rowing boats. There are lots of good restaurants and bars, as well as the Stephen Joseph Theatre, home to most of Alan Ayckbourn’s world premieres. The vibrant city of York is less than an hour away with its magnificent minster surrounded by quaint cobbled streets, cafes and street entertainers.
