Seaspray is a beautifully furnished, contemporary mid-terrace house and is only 100 yards from the promenade in Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, which stretches the length of the pretty sweeping bay, with the Maritime Centre and lifeboat house at one end, and the listed building of the Italian ice cream shop in the centre. The local beach remains uncrowded all year round, ideal for picnics and rock-pooling. Set on a small development, this semi-detached house offers contemporary and welcoming accommodation for couples, friends or small families. The house also has a small enclosed garden, ideal for relaxing in after a day out. Set in the bay is the ’Couple’ by Sean Henry, a popular attraction being the only current, east coast offshore sculpture. Regular exhibitions and music events are held in the Maritime Centre, where the café overlooks the lovely bay. Newbiggin has friendly Italian and Indian restaurants, and a selection of cafés and small shops. A local bus stops practically at the door, where a discounted weekly bus ticket takes you all around the county. The road structure means easy access to the Northumberland Heritage Coast, Kielder Water and the Border counties. The pretty historic market town of Morpeth is only 8 miles, with a lovely selection of eateries, bespoke shops and a railway station where trains can be taken to Edinburgh or York for a different type of day out. Take a trip to Newcastle upon Tyne, with the vibrant Quayside, Baltic Centre and fine architecture, Alnwick Castle, famous for Harry Potter and Downton Abbey scenes, is only 24 miles away, where you can spend a few hours exploring the castle, gardens and cobbled streets.
