Enjoy the splendour and magnificence of Strathconon Glen where you will see some of the most beautiful and stunning scenery in the Northern Highlands. The Hollies has been furnished and equipped to a very good standard to ensure as comfortable and relaxing holiday as possible. This semi-detached cottage makes an ideal base for either relaxing and getting away from it all, or exploring the many diverse delights this part of northern Scotland has to offer. Local attractions include scenic hill and forest walks (a munro bagger’s paradise), river and loch fishing (permits available from the Estate Office), mountain biking on the very quiet roads or perhaps kayaking on the lochs and river nearby. There is a wealth of wildlife including many species of birds, and you will often see the stags grazing near the cottage and beside the road. Slightly further afield you can take a trip to the west coast to visit some of the lovely villages including Ullapool, Gairloch, Plockton and the Isle of Skye. Nearer to home is Inverness, the Highland Capital, which boasts a large variety of shops, fine restaurants and theatre. Take a cruise on Loch Ness – a good monster spotting area! Travel along the Moray coastline which has been voted amongst the top 20 in the world’s top coastal destinations where you can visit the quaint villages which are dotted all along the coast. You can enjoy boat trips and hopefully catch sight of the famous pods of dolphins. Take a trip along the Moray Whisky Trail, the only one of its kind in the world, where you can sample some of the finest whiskies in the world. For the less energetic, sit back, relax in front of the wood burner and watch the ever changing scenery of this lovely area. Shop and pub 8 miles, restaurant 12 miles.
