The Queens Apartment was once part of the very fashionable Queen’s Hotel, a favourite haunt of the aristocrats during the late 1800s. It continues to offer stylish holiday accommodation with an attractive art deco theme. Ideally located in the heart of Hastings, there is access to many shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, plus a nearby cinema. The pier, White Rock Theatre and St Leonard’s are to the west, while in the other direction, it’s just a gentle stroll away from the picturesque historic old town with its famous beach-launched fishing fleet, iconic black net huts and The Hastings Contemporary, home to a collection of 20th and 21st century art and exhibitions showcasing the best of modern and contemporary British art. Explore the bric-a-brac and vintage shops, and you just might find a treasure and spot the buildings that appeared in the TV drama, ‘Foyles War’. Eat arguably the freshest fish and chips you will ever taste and then take the East Hill lift, the steepest funicular railway in the UK up to Hastings Country Park for stunning views and, on a clear day, spot France. From George Street, you can take the West Hill lift, which retains its original Victorian coaches and spot Beachy Head from the top. There are year-round events including Jack-in-the-Green in May, food festivals in the autumn and check out the famous bonfire season. Historic Battle, Rye and the golden sands at Camber are a short drive away. Fishing available locally (at cost).
