Hidden away in the conservation coastal village of Cellardyke, Anstruther, Harbour View House is the perfect destination for small families, couples and friends wanting to share a holiday together. A real home from home, guests will find a warm and welcoming holiday cottage at any time of the year. The living space on the first floor offers roof top views, from the kitchen and living room, over to Anstruther harbour and the Firth of Forth and Isle of May. This terraced house is south-facing, and the courtyard is ideal for al fresco dining or just relaxing with a glass of wine on sunny days. There is lots to explore on foot from your doorstep, with quaint wynds and lanes in the old fishing village of Cellardyke, as well as the bustling Anstruther harbour area within five minutes’ walk, where there are eating places to suit all tastes, from an award-winning fish and chip shop to a Michelin starred restaurant, cafés, bars, local shops and galleries. From April to September there are daily ferries and boat trips leaving from Anstruther that take you to the Isle of May, which is a National Nature Reserve and home to colonies of sea birds, including puffins, and the surrounding waters are the habitat of seal colonies; well worth a visit. Perfect for walkers and cyclists there is the Fife Coastal Path, which runs through the village and leads in either direction to secluded coves, little fishing villages, and white sandy beaches. The Millennium Cycle Way runs through central Fife, with miles of quiet country roads, disused railways and forest tracks to explore along the way in this most picturesque and historic areas of Fife. St Andrews is only 9 miles away and makes a great day out, with excellent shopping facilities as well as numerous restaurants, pubs and bistros. There are many historic buildings to visit both in the city centre and in the surrounding area. Famous as being the home of golf, golfers will enjoy visiting the British Golf Museum or playing on one of the championship courses. Water sports are available locally, with sea kayaking and open canoeing along the shore.
