Built in the 1830s Ty Het is situated in the village of Llanedwen and is a delightful single-storey detached property set in its own large gardens with distant views of Snowdonia. Wild rabbits are a frequent sight in the adjacent fields, which are periodically used for grazing sheep and cattle. Red squirrels live in the adjacent woodland. Ty Het is now privately owned, but was formerly the lodge to Plas Llwynonn, a large listed property which belongs to the Marquis of Anglesey, and is part of the Plas Newydd estate. The current owners have extended the cottage to enhance its space and delight but have retained its character. There is no straight line to be seen in the original stone built structure, the double glazed timber windows match the original design, and the stone tiled floor laid throughout adds to the authenticity. The cottage sleeps four people and has a large reception hall, living room with an open fire, dining room, kitchen, utility room, one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and two bathrooms. It is centrally heated throughout, utilizing old style radiators that are in keeping with the character of the property. The décor in the cottage is traditional, with added Welsh antiques, collectables and artwork. The dining room features a 200 year old Anglesey Welsh dresser, a Llanrwst grandfather clock, cricket table and a glass display cupboard filled with Welsh souvenirs and dolls. The antique bookcase in the living room has an excellent variety of books. Children are well catered for, with toys and books neatly stored away in a toy cupboard. Shop and pub 1 mile.
