This Grade II listed vicarage was meticulously restored by a talented team of craftsmen who won the Cornish Building Groups Best Period Building Restoration Award. Lovingly furnished and improved with tasteful décor and contemporary amenities including underfloor heating, this very special property provides a comfortable holiday home. The property is set within the village of Manaccan, where at Halloween the residents go all out with amazing dressed properties and events. On Bonfire Night, there is a spectacular fireworks display in the valley, with perfect viewing from the patio of The Old Vicarage. Just 1 mile away is magical Frenchman’s Creek and the beautiful creek side village of Helford, tucked in a sheltered spot on the banks of the Helford River, complete with waterfront pub and the renowned Helford River Sailing Club. Closer still is St Anthony-in-Meneage where motor boats and kayaks can be hired. The River Helford runs through this unspoilt area of south Cornwall, part of the stunning, west facing Lizard peninsula, the UK’s most southerly point. A small ferry service runs from the banks of the river to the famous inn on the opposite side, with small sheltered sandy beaches, woodland and miles of glorious walks. Much of the surrounding countryside is owned by the National Trust and is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The property is within easy reach of many picturesque fishing villages including Cadgwith Cove, Kynance Cove, Coverack and Mullion, where you will find numerous sandy beaches. The Old Vicarage is also within easy access to miles of south west coastal paths available for you to explore. The busy harbour town of Falmouth is within a 30-minute drive, and has an abundance of shops and restaurants, and events are held throughout the year including Falmouth Week, many international sailing events and the famous Oyster Festival. Marina’s and small ferry services operate to Flushing and nearby St Mawes, plus regular day and evening cruises are available along the River Helford.
