After a busy day spent exploring Dartmoor National Park, return to Manor Cottage and relax in front of the cosy wood burner.. Ground Floor: Living/dining room: With wood burner, 40" Freeview Smart TV, DVD player, wooden floor and French doors leading to patio. Kitchen: With electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer and wooden floor. Bedroom 1: With double bed, Freeview Smart TV and en-suite with shower cubicle and toilet. First Floor: Landing: Galleried with single sofa bed. Bedroom 2: With zip and link twin beds (can be super kingsize on request), Freeview Smart TV and beams. Bathroom: With bath, shower attachment, toilet and heated towel rail.. Barbecue hut. Private parking for 2 cars.. Both properties: Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and logs for wood burner included. Cot, travel cot, highchair and stairgate available on request. Welcome pack. Croquet available on request. Patio with garden furniture and barbecue. Large lawned garden with garden furniture (shared with other property on-site). Outdoor heated swimming pool (shared, open Summer 2020). 1 dog welcome, to be kept on a lead at all times (sheep country). No smoking. Please note: There is a fenced pond in the grounds. In the interest of your safety, the swimming pool will be unavailable during July and August.. Grattan Cottage (ref UK11036) and Manor Cottage (ref UK11037) are set within the grounds of the historic and Grade II listed Grattan Manor, just outside the village of Bow. Both cottages have been furnished and equipped to a very good standard and each has its own unique character and charm. Wood burners, well-equipped kitchens and private patio areas all contribute to the appeal of the cottages. Both Grattan Cottage, which is detached, and Manor Cottage, a wing of a property, overlook the old orchard, a large lawned area with some of the remaining fruit trees. It’s ideal for sitting out on a warm summer’s day or taking the dog for an early morning stretch. Within the orchard, each cottage has a private sitting-out area; Grattan Cottage has a raised gazebo whilst Manor Cottage has the use of a private barbecue hut. Croquet is available by prior arrangement with the owner. The village of Bow is a short distance away and has a pub and well-stocked local convenience store. Due to the central location, the cottages make an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding Devon countryside. The regional town of Okehampton is close by and is considered the gateway to Dartmoor National Park. The town also provides a good range of shops and amenities. On Dartmoor there are plenty of walks for all ages and abilities to enjoy this stunning and dramatic area, as well as some pretty villages with pubs and tea rooms. Towards the coast there are many fine beaches and coves including Saunton, Woolacombe and Westward Ho! A trip to Lundy Island can be arranged from Bideford pier. There are numerous places of interest close by including the R.H.S. gardens at Rosemoor, Dartington Crystal and the historic fishing village of Clovelly. Visit the last castle to be built in England at Castle Drogo (National Trust). There is golf at Okehampton, Ashbury and nearby Crediton, or you can hire a bike and cycle the Tarka Trail at Great Torrington. Shop 1¼ miles, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.
