The property is set off the main road in a peaceful, elevated location on the banks of the River Gowan, which runs past the rear yard. It is an ideal base for walking, mountaineering and touring this unspoilt area of the National Park or just relaxing. Enjoy the beautiful ever changing scenery, stroll the many footpaths of this picturesque area, or for serious walkers, there is the challenge of the Kentmere Horseshoe. Staveley is also a great base for cyclists, with the option of meandering along quiet lanes on a road bike, or exploring the exhilarating mountain bike tracks and trails that criss-cross Kentmere valley and the surrounding fells. Visit Haweswater, Troutbeck, Longsleddale and the whole of the Lake District which can be easily reached by car. Staveley is on your doorstep with ample shopping, coffee shops, cafés and pubs serving meals. Fishing permits can be bought for Kentmere and mountain bike hire is also available locally. For those wanting to leave the car behind, the property is a short walk away from the railway station, with regular trains to Windermere a mere 5-minute journey, and it is also situated on the main bus route for Windermere, Ambleside, Grasmere and Keswick.
