A quiet and rural location you can enjoy starlit nights and you might be lucky to catch site of deer, badgers and owls which frequently visit the grounds. Surrounded by hundreds of acres of Forestry Commission Land and just two miles inland from the Atlantic Highway (A39) on the North Devon/Cornwall border, between Bideford and Bude, it is the ideal choice for a relaxing break. The spacious living area opens onto a large enclosed deck, perfect for a lazy breakfast whilst you plan your day and overlooks the stunning grounds and lake. With your own private fishing on site, and a lovely lakeside walk with bird hide, it will be hard to drag yourself away but if you do venture out there are lots of activities and places to visit close by. Nearby Woolsery, 2½ miles has a village store and Post Office for your daily essentials and a popular village inn with its highly acclaimed restaurant and adjacent fish and chip shop, which is perfect for an evening out or an evening in with a fish supper. Take a boat trip to the nature reserve at Lundy Island or explore many pretty fishing villages including nearby Clovelly, and Appledore. The wide golden sandy beach of Westward Ho!, popular with surfers, is just 12 miles away and there is plenty of family entertainment close by. There are numerous National Trust properties in the area including Arlington and Hartland Abbey, as well as the RHS gardens at Rosemoor and Docton Mill. Hartland Quay and the lighthouse are well worth a visit and for family fun the North Devon Wake Park, Ultimate Adventure Centre, The Big Sheep and Milky Way Adventure Parks are a must. Golf, riding, fishing, surfing, mountain boarding, karting and high ropes are available locally, and the wild beauty of Dartmoor, Exmoor and Bodmin Moors are all within easy driving distance as is the famous Eden Project.
