Bakewell is a lively, thriving market town which provides the perfect base for a whole host of activities including walking and cycling. There are many historic country houses nearby, such as Haddon Hall, Chatsworth and Hardwick Hall. Steeped in history, this market town is filled with character offering a great range of bistros, pubs, tea rooms, shops, gardens and parks to enjoy. You can visit the local farmers’ market and a number of fabulous festivals throughout the year. Close by is the Monsal Trail which starts in Bakewell and leads to the outskirts of Buxton.
