On a clear day you can catch sight of the Isle of Man, and a dog-friendly restaurant is only 100 yards away if you don’t want to cook. The beauty of this area is that it is so close to the Lakes and the coastal path is on your doorstep, with only a short walk to the RSPB St Bees Head Nature Reserve. Take a trip on the Ravenglass to Eskdale miniature steam railway, known to the locals as the ’la ’al ratty’, or visit beautiful Muncaster Castle, home to the World Owl Centre. Whitehaven is only 5 miles away and is filled with popular restaurants and a world-famous port.
