Appledore which is close by offers boat trips and fishing and the famous Tarka trail you can cycle from Okehampton to Braunton and join almost anywhere and hire a bike. The historic port and fishing village of Clovelly with its cobbled pedestrian only path leads to the sea and some lovely tea rooms. Tea on the Green in Westward Ho! itself offers you the best cream tea for miles but be sure to pop in and pick up a pager so as not to miss out on getting a seat!
