Torvean is a home away from home within walking distance of the market town of Wareham with its artisan shops and Wareham Forest which includes the Sika Walking and Cycling Trail. It is the perfect location to explore the beautiful award winning beaches of Studland Bay, Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. Only a few miles away is the thousand year old Corfe Castle which is managed by the National Trust and sits within the pretty village of Corfe Castle itself. From Corfe Castle it is possible to catch a steam train into the seaside town of Swanage with its unique shops, arcades, pier and long stretch of golden sandy beach. From nearby Poole, which has the world’s second largest natural harbour, a boat will take you to Brownsea Island, another National Trust site which is well worth a visit with its abundance of wildlife including deer and the elusive red squirrel. A variety of attractions are only a short drive away, such as the Bovington Tank Museum, Monkey World and the Jurassic Coast where you can go fossil hunting.
