Converted in 2019, Daleview Cottage is a detached, stone-built cottage, with a private terrace and lawned garden, ideal for up to four guests. Woodland is a small village located near Romaldkirk, an award-winning classic English village set around three village greens, and the location for TV’s More Creatures Great and Small. Daleview Cottage is just perfect for walkers and makes an excellent base from which to explore The North Pennines, High Force Waterfall (Britain’s highest) and the Upper Tees Valley. There are plenty of pretty pubs around for you to enjoy a well-earned rest; this area is a walker’s paradise. Middleton in Teesdale, Holwick and Cotherstone are all nearby, offering extensive walks along The Pennine Way. A popular route is the stroll to High Birk Hatt - the rural home of Hannah Hauxwell, the lady of The Dales. The popular market town of Barnard Castle is only 6½ miles away. Here you will find a range of curio and antique shops, butchers, bakeries and a few high street stores. There is also a selection of pretty cafés and pubs, restaurants and a large supermarket. Other great family days out include Raby Castle and Deer Park, a trip to the historic city of Durham, Beamish Open-Air Museum, Auckland Castle, former home of the Prince Bishops, and the North East coastline, with its many harbour and ports. After all that exploring you will certainly appreciate the comforts that Daleview Cottage provides. Step out of the hot tub and into the robes and slippers that have been thoughtfully provided for you during your stay and cosy up by the wood burner. Even your pet will be pampered with a treat or two. Shop 150 yards and restaurant 6 miles. Free WiFi
