Rock Cottage sits on the village green in the heart of rural Crosthwaite, a sleepy location in the heart of the Lyth Valley, which was recently noted by ’Lonely Planet’ as one of the most beautiful places on Earth. A mere five miles from both Bowness to the north and the medieval market town of Kendal to the east, Rock Cottage proves a great base for exploring the local area either by car, on foot or by bike. The Lyth Valley is renowned for its damsons. In April, the hedgerows and orchards are awash with white blossom, ready for the annual Damson Day, where products such as damson gin and jams, made from the previous year’s harvest, are sold. Mid terraced, Rock Cottage has all the ingredients you would expect from a countryside cottage including exposed beams and a warming wood burning stove.
