Holly Croft is a wonderful picture postcard cottage that can be found in the quiet rural village of Skerne, amidst the natural beauty of the Yorkshire Wolds. Warm, spacious and comfortable, once inside you’ll find a large and sociable kitchen/dining area just perfect for entertaining. The stylish living room with its beamed ceiling and an open fire provides a cosy space for winter evenings, and upstairs there’s three, good-sized double bedrooms, of which one boasts an en-suite with roll-top bath. Outside, immaculately maintained gardens surround the cottage, and opposite you’ll see horses grazing in the paddock, together with a working farm adjacent. Less than 2 miles from the property is Skerne Wetlands Nature Reserve, a nationally-important habitat and great for a family day out or for bird watchers. The thriving canal-side market town of Driffield (known locally as the capital of the Yorkshire Wolds) is also just 3 miles away, and the coastal resorts of Filey, Bridlington and Scarborough are all between a 30-50 minute drive. Filey is home to a large sweeping beach, and at the busier resorts of Scarborough and Bridlington, you’ll find working harbours and open top bus tours. There’s plenty of stately homes to visit including Castle Howard, Sledmere House, Burton Agnes Hall and Sewerby Hall. Finally, the historical city of York, with its famous minster, can be reached in just an hour. Beach 10 miles. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile. Free WiFi
