This walker’s paradise is set in a unique location, in the idyllic heart of Yorkshire’s Pennine Way. “The Hideaway” is a delightful mid-terraced, Grade II listed Weaver’s Cottage dating back over 250 years. Situated just 2 miles from the centre of “out there” Hebden Bridge, in the Calder Valley. Once inside you’ll discover a wealth of original features including beamed ceilings, exposed stone and original Indian stone flooring. The sociable open plan living space is home to a generously sized multi-fuel burner, in the bedrooms you’ll find hypnos mattresses for your ultimate comfort, and high quality pillows, linen and towels. Outside the split-level rear garden has three seating areas enabling you to breathe in the fresh air in the peace and quiet whilst enjoying magnificent uninterrupted views over the National Trust’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Hardcastle Crags. As the UK’s first ‘Walkers are Welcome’ town, Hebden Bridge is host to many artisan shops, cafés, pubs, restaurants and even a famous old cinema where tea and cakes are served during the interval! You can even visit the two restaurants recently made famous by the BBC’s “Interior Design Masters with Alan Carr”. A short stroll from the cottage will lead you into Heptonstall village. One of West Yorkshire’s best kept secrets. The high street is locked in a 250 year-old timewarp, and a triumph of conservation. There is a fantastic pub, tea-room, and village shop. A visit to Heptonstall Church is a must, where you’ll find the resting place of trail-blazing poet and author Sylvia Plath. A scenic 30-minute drive will take you across the moors of “Wuthering Heights” into Brontë Country, and Haworth’s famous cobbled streets. The location is convenient for both the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, and the railway station in the centre of Hebden Bridge offers direct routes to both Manchester and Leeds. This property is not suitable for people with mobility issues. Shop two miles, pub and restaurant one mile. Free WiFi
