Thwaite Cottage is a semi-detached property which is over 200 years old and is located in the small village of Sigglesthorne, only 3 miles from the coastal town of Hornsea. It is rumoured that the name of the village comes from a Viking that lived there! This rural retreat is ideal for walks, seaside holidays or exploring the many market towns in the East Riding such as Beverley, Malton and Driffield. Thwaite Cottage has lots to offer bird lovers due to it’s proximity to the Yorkshire Nature Triangle, including RSPB Bempton, Spurn Point and the North Cave Wetlands. For golf enthusiasts there are numerous courses within a few miles. The stately homes of Burton Agnes, Burton Constable, Sewerby Hall and Castle Howard are also worth a visit, with many of them offering a program of events throughout the year from Proms Spectaculars to Christmas extravaganzas. This area can not be visited without exploring the stunning scenery and rolling countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds, which inspired the famous Hockney paintings. The coastal resorts of Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough, as well as the North Yorkshire Moors and the historic city of York are all easily accessible. Beach 4 miles.
