The terraced cottage has kept many of its original features including stone walls and beautiful beams, has been decorated to a very good standard and houses paintings by local artists. The property is centrally located off Kirkby Lonsdale’s main street, through a small ginnel onto Salt Pie Lane, formerly known as ‘Cattle Market Yard’. The lane had a change of name in 1911 after an enterprising lady living in the yard made hot salted mutton pies to sell to the passing trade. After filling up from the delicious pies, it was necessary to take a short stroll to the nearest pub to quench their thirst! Kirkby Lonsdale sits on the River Lune, a hot spot for motorcyclists, walkers and cyclists gathering at the renowned Devil’s Bridge. Kirkby Lonsdale is bordering Lancashire, Yorkshire and Cumbria, and there is easy access to both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, and Morecambe Bay coast. Kirkby Lonsdale itself has a lot to offer and boasts an abundance of traditional pubs, fine dining restaurants, charming tea rooms and boutique shops, all on the doorstep of the cottage.
