Enjoying views of the harbour, the sea, Lews Castle and Stornoway itself, Number Ten is a brilliant place to stay for either a short night or longer stay when visiting the Outer Hebrides. The accommodation is finished to a high standard, the owner putting in a lot of care and attention to ensure you have a luxurious stay in Stornoway. Comprising of two double bedrooms - one kingsize double and the other a queen 3¾ double - a spacious bathroom and a fantastic open-plan kitchen/dining/living room. The kitchen has everything you’ll want whilst on holiday, even though you’ll likely spend most of your time eating out at the many great local restaurants. The dining area also is a brilliant space in the corner window enjoying views over the busy harbour. It’s really lovely being able to look out and watch the boats and ships come to and fro. You’ll see amazing craft of all shapes and sizes pass by during your stay. Outside the apartment there’s a small seating area with table and chairs, perfect for a drink in the evening as the view is west towards the setting sun. You can also see Lews Castle over the Stornoway rooftops, which is rather spectacular! The apartment is a perfect place to base yourself during a short break or longer stay in the Outer Hebrides. Stornoway has lots to see and do, and you’re right in the thick of it to stroll around and tick things off the list. However, a real advantage of staying at Number Ten in the town is being centrally located for explorations and adventures across the archipelago. You can be at the Butt of Lewis beside the Stevenson Lighthouse (windiest spot in Britain!) in the far north of Lewis in 45 minutes, out west at the Callanish Stones and Blackhouse Village in 35 minutes, even further west at glorious Uig Bay in 45 minutes, and south exploring the other-worldly Harris beaches in under an hour. Number Ten is a truly outstanding base for those isle explorers amongst you! For those looking to not just sight-see there are many outdoor pursuits to enjoy. Surfing on the Atlantic coast is consistent and pretty sensational. Golf can be enjoyed in Stornoway itself, but there are other courses notably Scarista that are so unbelievably scenic (it doesn’t matter how you play, it’s that good!). Fly fishing is very good, particularly around Stornoway on local lochs and the River Creed for salmon. Hiking and biking are also world-class with many routes all over the isles, and a long-distance trail to rank amongst the best: The Hebridean Way. The Heb Way finishes in Stornoway (or the Butt of Lewis if you’re really keen!), and Number Ten would make the perfect end of route pause and recovery for a few nights. Number Ten is a perfect place to stay and offer a higher standard of accommodation than most of the surrounding properties in the area. The attention to detail is second to none.
