The beautiful village of Thornhill is 8 miles away and the bustling town of Dumfries with its excellent shopping and leisure facilities is 18 miles. Explore the beautiful Galloway Forest Park. Tour the stunning Solway Firth boasting 200 miles of beautiful coastline or visit the nearby magnificent Drumlanrig Castle (9.5 miles), which hosts an array of yearly events and recently featured as a location for the hit TV series Outlander. Walkers can explore the fantastic countryside and forest trails including the Southern Upland Way and mountain bikers will be thrilled with a day trip to the famous 7Stanes, 25 miles away.
