If you re holidaying with all the family, treat little ones to a morning out at the Lake District Wildlife Park (11 miles) before venturing home via the bustling market town of Keswick (10.5 miles). With museums, attractions and a cinema, Keswick is a vibrant hub and has many eateries for you to visit. Climb aboard a boat across Derwentwater or stay closer to home and explore Crummock Water (1.5 miles) or Loweswater (1.5 miles). A 7 mile trip will take you to Cockermouth, the birthplace of Wordsworth which is home to a wealth of independent shops well worth a visit. Step inside this 18th century converted barn and make yourself at home. The porch and boot room are handy spaces to leave muddy shoes when you arrive home from the great outdoors and a door leads to a useful WC. Stairs take you to a room which you can designate to your dogs with a stable door and plenty of room for their beds and toys. Descend stairs from the boot room to find the utility/games area on the lower ground floor. This space has a washing machine and dryer, and a pool table for competitive evenings in. Head back up to the ground floor to spend time in the open plan living area. The lounge is a welcoming space with comfortable sofas where you can unwind in front of the Smart TV or a DVD as you stay warm by the wood burner. A light, bright room decorated in calming tones, it s a lovely spot to spend time both before and after adventures. Head up some steps and through to the kitchen/diner with American style fridge/freezer with ice maker, microwave, range cooker, dishwasher and a coffee machine for those early mornings. Cook up a storm in this sleek and stylish space before plating up at the table and enjoying time together with good food. From the living space, step through to the orangery, the perfect spot to enjoy your morning drink or to steal away for some peace and quiet. Let a breeze flow through the patio doors or gaze outside and admire the verdant views. The orangery leads back down to the lower ground floor where you will find a room entitled Rock Room . Acting as a second lounge area, this room has a Smart TV, cosy seating and a section of exposed Turner How Rock. When it s time for bed, five bedrooms await. There is a handy gated area (lonning) surrounding the cottage where dogs can stretch their legs safely and the enclosed garden is full of lush plants and flowers.
