Set deep in the rich countryside and offering a rugged landscape within the Brecon Beacons National Park this detached country house with spacious accommodation is just perfect for family and friends.
This remote location is an ideal starting point for exploring the Brecon Beacons; there is a wealth of walking available from the property along with the Visitor Centre only 8 miles away. Walkers can explore Pen y Fan, Pen y Crug, Llyn y Fan Fach Llyn y Fan Fawr and the Usk Reservoir all within 10 miles. Other local attractions include Cantref Adventure Farm (12 miles), Maen Llia (4 miles) and Llangorse Lake (16 miles). You can also visit the National Showcaves Centre (8 miles) or take a trip on the Brecon Mountain Railway or step back in time at the Big Pit Museum. Also for adventure try Bike Park Wales (21 miles) & Zip World Tower (21 miles). There are plenty of pubs in local villages including Libanus (5 miles) and Defynnog (2 miles). The market town of Brecon (10 miles) is home to a cathedral, theatre, cinema and plenty of shops, pubs, and restaurants. Set within the rugged countryside of the Brecon Beacons National Park, you ll enjoy the stunning views as you take the steps down to the main entrance. The rear lobby has been finished with an architect designed open corridor of sheer glass offering views across to the established rose garden; here you can take a pew whilst you remove muddy boots after a day in the hills. The corridor gives access to the heart of the house which offers a peaceful place to relax with a good book chosen from the well stocked bookshelves; there is also a desk if you needed to attend to emails. To the right, you have access to the snug a cosy room with colourful sofas and rich fabrics, a wood burner to warm the room and a TV with a home cinema system for a movie night. To the left of the snug, a corridor will lead you into the kitchen/diner, the perfect place for creating and entertaining. The kitchen will please the best of chefs, finished with a rustic twist, exposed stone walls and stainless steel worktops. For the preparation of food, you can choose between the electric oven with a gas hob or the electric Aga for slow cooking. There is a wall mounted grill, microwave, plate warmer, larder fridge with ice compartment and a dishwasher. For further food preparation, there is a utility room with ample workspace, a washing machine, tumble dryer and second dishwasher; there is also WC. For dining, there is a large table that will accommodate ten guests here, you can entertain in style with views across the rugged landscape. For relaxing, step down into the glass corridor and through the double doors into the formal lounge, which is spacious and stylish with large sofas and armchairs, a small bar with an eclectic collection of glassware, interesting artwork, and an open fire. Whilst there is ample space within the lobby, there is a dungeon which you are free to use as a drying room; there is also a second fridge and wine chiller in this space. When the day is done, you can access the first floor via two staircases. From the glass lobby where you can climb the open stairs onto a small landing, for the master room, you can take the glass bridge to the far side of the house to find a super king size room with a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams and sheer glass offering access onto a small balcony which is perfect for a peaceful morning coffee. After a day s walking, you can sink into the moon bath with soft lighting that is tucked away within the room. There is also a WC. Further along the landing, there is a double bedroom with a freestanding double bed and reading area; there is access from here to a twin room which is light and spacious and has a trundle mattress for an additional child. Also within this landing is a family bathroom with a three quarter size dipping bath with a shower over and a WC. From the snug, a set of stairs offers access to a super king size suite with an en suite walk in shower and a WC; this is a peaceful room at the other end of the house. Outside, the property is surrounded by enclosed gardens and spectacular views, and there is a large sunken patio with table and chairs for alfresco dining, bordered with an established rose garden. For the chef, there s a pizza oven where you can enjoy baking your own creations using kiln dried wood. There is plenty of space for children to enjoy themselves, along with sheep and cattle in the neighbouring fields. There is ample off road parking and storage for bikes.
