Description
Sleeping up to four guests, your family will feel right at home in Bega Cottage. Parking your car on the street and entering the property, a warm living/dining room greets you with a woodburning stove, a sofa, a Smart TV and a dining area for four; perfect for a relaxing evening after a long coastal walk. The kitchen has a sleek aesthetic with all the essential appliances for cooking your favourite meals, including a double electric oven, gas hob, microwave and washer/dryer. At the back of the cottage, there is a bathroom containing a basin, bath and overhead shower, with elegant tiling in keeping with the contemporary interior. Climbing the staircase, you’ll find two bedrooms to rest your head in; one twin room overlooking the garden with two single beds and a bedside table, perfect for children, as well as one double room with a clothes hanging rail and storage space. On warm summer evenings, the garden boasts a lawn and outdoor furniture to enjoy a picnic or dinner alfresco style. Bega Cottage is less than a mile away from the local convenience store, pub and Post Office, and a great location for exploring the historical village of St. Bees; you can enjoy a walk along the heritage coast or visit St. Bees Priory Church, a pre-Norman religious site. For keen golfers in the party there is a 9 hole golf course nearby. For those looking to explore more of the area, Bega Cottage is a short drive away from Egremont, a small market town with a wide main street, overlooked by the remains of Egremont Castle, built around 1130. A short drive north of the cottage lies Whitehaven, a lovely coastal town, which supposedly inspired the New York streets system, with plenty of shops, restaurants and historical and cultural sites to visit, such as The Beacon Museum, Rosehill Theatre and St. James’ Church. Bega Cottage is also an ideal location for enjoying Cumbria’s mountains and country parks. The cottage sits just to the east of the Lake District National Park, where you’ll find plenty of walking, hiking and cycling opportunities, such as Longlands Lake, Scafell Pike and Dent.
