Description

On entering the cottage, you will notice the character features of the property including high ceilings and the original wooden beams. There is a spacious sitting room with plenty of comfy sofas in front of a feature fireplace housing a welcoming woodburner; a wonderful place to relax after a full day out and about exploring the area. This leads into the lovely sun room which is a great place to relax whilst enjoying the amazing views of the garden and beyond. The well-equipped kitchen has its own dining table and chairs, making a great sociable place for preparing and enjoying some home-cooked meals, as well as a separate dining room. Upstairs there are three spacious bedrooms, one with its own en-suite facilities as well as a separate bathroom. To the outside are large lawned gardens, making great places for pets and children to enjoy. There are plenty of walking and cycling opportunities from the doorstep with the Clee Hills and its 3000-acre common close by, whilst the lovely Long Mynd Hills, known as Little Switzerland is an easy drive away. The village itself is home to the traditional pub, The Crown at Hopton, which is known locally for a good selection of home-cooked food to enjoy. A short drive takes you to the pretty town of Cleobury Mortimer which offers a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. Within 20 minutes takes you to the medieval town of Ludlow, which is famous for its castle as well as many food and drink festivals throughout the year. Further afield are the towns of Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock and the World Heritage Site of the Ironbridge Gorge with its ten museums as well Shrewsbury, Kidderminster and Hereford to explore. Whatever you decide to do, The Old Granary is a wonderful place to explore this wonderful county of Shropshire at any time of the year.

Hopton Wafers is a small village in south Shropshire, to the west of the market town of Cleobury Mortimer. Hopton Wafers is home to a village church and village hall which has a children’s play area and large playing field which lends itself to a number of outdoor sports and games. There is a pub in the village, named The Crown at Hopton. This is a traditional pub with excellent accommodation accompanied with homemade food and provides an ideal base to visit and explore the county of Shropshire.
