Gallery Cottage is the annexe of the original village School House which became the home of the sculptor Henry Moore in the 1920's and later the renowned American painter, Alfred Cohen and his family. In 1983 The School House Art Gallery opened, which has gained a well-respected reputation for showing contemporary art of the highest quality. The adjoining annexe was totally renovated in Spring 2018 and now stands proud in its own right as a very comfortable and stylish holiday cottage with two en-suite bedrooms (double and twin), and an airy open-plan living space, with exposed original brick and flint wall, overlooking the garden and fields beyond.
With an en suite bedroom on each floor, Gallery Cottage will appeal to couples, singles and friends who enjoy their privacy and independence. It's an ideal spot for walkers, bird watchers, and indeed artists and art lovers - though they might find the temptation of an art gallery next door a bit too hard to resist! Gallery Cottage is suitable for a small family with older children - only children over the age of ten years are allowed.
