Situated just a short walk away from the town's bustling Quay, this former fisherman's cottage now offers contemporary, Scandi-style living and enjoys wonderful long distance coastal views from the top floor master suite.
After changing ownership in 2020, Sea Shanty Cottage underwent a complete refurbishment. Set over three floors, some rooms were opened up, both stairways were modernised and two smart fully tiled bathrooms along with a ground floor cloakroom installed, creating a light and airy contemporary 'easy' look. There's a spacious well-equipped dining kitchen, with a Smeg range that will cater for the needs of even the most demanding of chefs and hungry diners. The adjoining sitting room with its large L-shaped sink-into-sofa is a cosy, chill out, 'shoes off' zone, ideal for spending an evening relaxing, catching up after spending a day outdoors or just enjoying a favourite series on the large widescreen television. The three bedrooms (king-size, double and bunk room) are spread over two floors, with a bathroom available on each floor. Outside there is a small enclosed courtyard with seating and a storage box large enough to take bikes, golf clubs, fishing rods - you name it!
This cool mid-terrace cottage is ideal for two couples, a small family or friends who like the idea of just stepping out of the door and finding everything is on hand. A short stroll takes you through to the main shopping street, where you will find everything you need for your holiday as well as some lovely places to stop for a bite to eat or a drink. Wander down to the Quay, and watch the fishing boats come in at high tide to unload their catch, or try your hand at crabbing. At low tide, all manner of wading birds will come in search of food in the shallow waters. From the Quay you can walk along the raised sea defence to the beach and wonder at the beauty of this stunning wide open coastal stretch framed by pine woods and candy coloured beach huts.
