Grade II listed, this delightful, double fronted elegant Georgian house is bursting with character and timeless charm. With gardens running down to a brook and views across the glorious Glaven Valley conservation area, this is a country and nature lover's delight. Add in easy access to Norfolk's wonderful coastline, and the neighbouring Georgian town of Holt, and you have a winner on your hands.
Noted in Pevsner no less, Brook House has a very welcoming feel. As you walk in the door you immediately relax and sense the stresses and strains of modern life fall away. Furnished and decorated throughout in a traditional style that suits the house beautifully, its utterly charming appeal will be sure to win you over. You are certainly not going to lack mod cons or comfort, but you might notice the stairs are steep, some ceilings are low and the odd floor have a tendency to run away at one end. On the ground floor, you have a country-style kitchen, with both an electric Aga and separate electric cooker to keep all cooks happy, that's combined with a dining area. There is a choice of two rooms in which to relax - a smaller, cosier sitting room/snug and a dual aspect drawing room with glorious rural views to both sides, divided into two areas; one in which to watch television and the other to sit and chat or perhaps to read - a Pevsner's Guide or Pride and Prejudice might be quite apt?! A shower room, just off the kitchen completes this floor. Upstairs are two lovely bedrooms (king-size and twin), both at the front of the house and with wonderful views across the neighbouring fields. The master bedroom has a doorway leading to the sweetest little sitting 'room' just big enough for one to take a seat and admire the view. The family bathroom on this floor is shared by both bedrooms. Outdoors, a pretty garden at the back of the house goes all the way down to a babbling brook that runs beside the Glaven Valley picturesque conservation area. Sit here for an hour or two, and soak up the beauty that surrounds you.
A stay at Brook House will undoubtedly help to 'slow you down' as only rural Norfolk, with its big skies and clean air, can. Here you have found a lovely base for exploring not only locally, but also further afield, whether it's on foot, bicycle or by car. There are so many things to see and do, ensuring all ages will be happy.
