Located in the heart of the coastal village of Orford, Bailey Cottage is sure to impress with its views of the magnificent Norman castle and attention to detail throughout. Sleeping up to three guests in two very well appointed bedrooms, this charming terrace cottage is ideal for a couple, friends or a small family with up two well-behaved furry friends.
The cottage has been beautifully restored and exceptionally furnished to ensure your stay is a comfortable one. The property is accessed via Castle Terrace the wonderful views of the castle beyond can be admired from the stable door and windows in the sitting room - what better way to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee in the morning than with views of the castle and the sounds of birds chirping. The cosy sitting room features a wood burning stove and comfy chairs, and, as mobile signal can often be very lacking in rural Suffolk, the homeowners have kindly provided a landline telephone (with honesty box) for making those important calls. The dining room has ample seating for up to four guests so why not invite a friend or two over for dinner during your stay, especially as both the Pump Street Bakery and Pinneys are within walking distance of the cottage and sell delicious local produce. Leading through the dining room is the compact but well-equipped kitchen with all of the mod-cons including an electric oven and hob and slimline dishwasher. Upstairs are two well-appointed bedrooms; the master bedroom with a comfortable king-size bed boasts impressive views of the castle; whereas the smaller bedroom with a single bed enjoys views of the rear garden. Whilst the decor and furnishing of Bailey Cottage is comfortable and characterful, the bathroom is contemporary and features a luxurious rainfall shower over the bath.
Outside, the garden to the rear is fully enclosed and features both a lawn and patio area. If you are bringing your bikes, The Viking trail in nearby Tunstall Forest is highly recommended and guests also have access to a small outhouse where bikes can be stored. Road-side parking is available close to the cottage along Castle Terrace and Castle Hill, with further parking at the Market Hill car park.
Orford is a spectacular coastal village with lots to see and do, so once the car is parked, it's possible to enjoy a few car-free days and simply explore the village and local surrounding area on foot.
