The perfect romantic hideaway for two, Barnacles in Fowey has undergone an extensive refurbishment and is now a perfectly snug and luxurious retreat.
This romantic bolthole is the perfect spot to enjoy all that Fowey has to offer, with its own steps leading down to the sandy water's edge, this is an idyllic spot to enjoy a special holiday break. Set in a building that was once a chandlers, where transactions took place from boats moored alongside the decking, it now affords views of the Boddinick Ferry; the home of Daphne Du Maurier opposite; and of the constantly changing river scenes.
Inside the cosy, open-plan sitting room, dining and kitchen area is welcoming, bright and characterful. Wander through to the bedroom where the wrought iron four-poster bed and luxurious en-suite bathroom, with its feature free-standing bath await. The decked balcony is the ideal spot for a morning coffee or a sundowner before dinner. If you're lucky enough to own your own small boat or dinghy; with its own mooring, a stay at Barnacles comes complete with fun on the water!
The ancient town of Fowey, with its harbour, yacht clubs and historic buildings, has much to offer its visitors.
