In association with Trinity House, Rural Retreats are pleased to present St Catherine's Lighthouse in Niton, the Isle of Wight.

St Catherine's Lighthouse is situated just outside the hamlet of Niton, approximately 10 minutes' drive from the popular coastal resort of Ventnor, the southernmost point of the Isle of Wight. The site comprises a terrace of three self-catering, former lighthouse keepers' cottages, Landward Cottage, sleeping 4 guests, Gurnard Cottage, sleeping five guests and Penda Cottage sleeping five guests. There is an excellent real ale pub a 10-minute walk up the hill.

Sorry, no pets, however dogs are welcome at Gurnard Cottage.

There is no fog signal at this lighthouse site.

A travel cot and highchair are available on request.

Very limited mobile signal. A telephone with honesty box is provided.

You may unload next to Penda Cottage (nearest to parking area) but please remember to park to the rear of the cottage to respect the privacy and views of others. Parking to the rear can also be accessed via the back door and through your private courtyard.

Guests are reminded they are renting a heritage building, therefore certain features such as steps, stairs and floor levels may not comply with that of a modern building. As such, we would advise guests to acquaint themselves with the premises on arrival and exercise caution accordingly.

Guests should be aware that the lighthouses and equipment need regular and sometimes emergency maintenance. Therefore visits by maintenance staff may occur at any time during the year. However, staff will do their best to ensure guest privacy at all times.

Access roads to the lighthouse site are narrow with limited passing places and, dependent on the season and site, there is the possibility of overhanging vegetation due to cutting restrictions during bird breeding seasons or other environmental reasons.

Sorry, no barbecues, fireworks, drones or remote controlled flying equipment permitted.

Sorry, charging of electric cars is not permitted.
