Located in the picturesque village of Askrigg, surrounded by the dramatic scenery of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, just a two minute stroll from three village pubs, a tearoom and a shop.
Askrigg Chapel is an elegant reverse level abode with second floor open-plan living, vaulted exposed beamed ceiling, oak wooden floors, arched stained-glass windows with views out across Wensleydale, and a stunning wrought iron staircase designed and installed by the Yorkshire sculptor Craig Dyson.
Steps lead to the main entrance on the first floor into the impressive dining hall showcasing that special staircase. Here, a table seating four guests provides the perfect spot for a game of cards with family and friends. Adjacent to the hall are two bedrooms tastefully decorated to capture the sympathetic décor in the Chapel; bedroom one features an enviable walk-in dressing room, bathroom with free-standing bath and a luxury Hamman Turkish style steam room with shower overhead; a further second bedroom has fitted wardrobes and an en-suite shower room.
A second wrought iron staircase leads to the ground floor living space boasting a dining kitchen, utility room and cloakroom, along with the remaining two bedrooms; the super-king size bedroom with en-suite shower room and the delightful fourth bedroom, both looking out onto the chapel's patio garden area at the rear of the property. Head upstairs to the second floor to the magnificent open-plan living area with galleried landing overlooking the dining hall. The central contemporary, circular fireplace encased in glass accompanied by the elegant bespoke bar really set the scene. There is ample seating in the sitting area with sumptuous sofas flanking the fireplace, whilst the dining table overlooks Wensleydale through the arched stained-glass windows. The bespoke kitchen boasts granite worktops, a breakfast bar and modern appliances.
Outside, to the rear of the chapel, is the generous patio with two seating areas where you can enjoy an al-fresco meal cooked on the gas barbecue whilst enjoying the stunning surrounding scenery, or retire for a night cap on the more comfortable garden suite by the pond.
Askrigg Chapel is an exceptional property and the perfect choice for a well deserved break in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and real Herriot country, where you will find a number of walks and cycling routes for all levels of experience.
