The small village of Carrbridge has a great deal to offer during both the summer and winter months, with a whole host of exciting tourist attractions to explore, surrounded by beautiful mountain and moorland scenery. Situated within the Cairngorms National Park, the village is home to a pony trekking centre, a challenging 9-hole golf course and a good selection of shops and eateries.
From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.
We stayed in October half term 2020 with 3 adults and 3 children aged 7, 9 and 11 at the time of our visit. The house had immense stunning views from the lounge and kitchen and it was fabulous listening to the migrating birds in the wetlands. The house is located down a single track lane and great both to chill out in and to experience the big outdoors! Great location - we biked, walked, zip wired across the hills and some that we were with even went wild swimming! We explored Aviemore which is a short drive away and frequented the cafe in the nearby village of Carrbidge. The house is cosy and warm with spacious rooms to a high standard. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable, with all the gadgets needed - good WiFi signal, big TV, washer and dryer. We spent a couple of days just chilling at the house playing games, watching films and cooking. We all loved it can't wait for a return visit!
Absolutely loved staying in this homely, yet modern cottage. The living space is fantastic, the kitchen is great with all the amenities you'd need. It was warm and very clean, with comfortable beds and lots of towels. The surrounding area is beautiful and so quiet, the Cairngorms itself on the doorstep gave us lots of things to do everyday. Postcode given doesn't quite take you all the way but the written instructions were very easy to follow. Only thing missing (if you're really bothered) is WiFi, but we didn't need it, 4G service was reliable if you need the internet, but we'd taken lots of our own games and DVDs for entertainment. Would recommend it to anyone, 100%
We spent a week here in the summer. The bungalow is modern, with all the comforts you would want and it's really nicely deocrated. It's a great location for exploring the surrounding hills and some great attractions nearby in Carrbridge and Aviemore. My kids spent 2 days at the adventure park in carrbridge - it's great value. It's a remote setting and we loved sitting outside on an evening to watch the sun set over the beautiful surroundings. Beds are big and cosy which was an added plus for me. Definitely recommend if planning a trip to Scotland!
