Found in Angus, on Scotland's east coast, is the traditional market town of Forfar, with history dating back to Roman occupation, this town was a major manufacturing centre for linen and jute. Nowadays it's a tourist spot for visiting the stunning Strathmore and Angus Glens, as well as still maintaining traditional agriculture, with a monthly farmers' market held to showcase the local produce. Nearby towns include Arbroath and Carnoustie, as well as Dundee just under 13 miles away.
Just returned from fantastic holiday at this beautiful holiday let. It is in immaculate condition, warm, cosy and comfortable and has everything you need. The views are spectacular over 360 degrees, if you look carefully you will see deer in the early morning and evening. If you have a dog there is no enclosed garden but there is somewhere that they can have a wee last thing at night and fields close by where you can walk. Lots of places to visit and walk. The hosts live next door and are really lovely people and are very helpful without being intrusive. If the weather is good you could sit on the balcony ally day and watch fantastic sunsets, highly recommended.
My boyfriend and I (20 and 21) stayed here with our dog for two nights and had a really great time. Lots of nice walks for the dog, lovely owners who had fresh scones ready for us on arrival as well as a jar of dog treats. water bowls and even leant me a pair of wellies for our morning walksthey also have a good selection of movies and blankets for quiet nights in as well as supplying menus for local restaurants and takeaways. I would 100% recommend to anyone who is wanting to go for a quaint little get away and would definitely suggest going to combie reservoir with the dog
Stayed here for a week. Beautiful and quiet location not too far from the A90. Great for trips into Arbroath and walks at Lunan Bay, the cliffs north of Arbroath and Montrose etc. Accommodation is very cosy with lovely views all around across fields. We loved watching the tractors with potatoes constantly in action. A very clean property, tastefully decorated throughout and excellently equipped. Great selection of dvds too. We wanted for nothing. Though it didn’t bother us, there is no door between the bedroom and bathroom, just a warning! Mandy and Ian, the owners were the perfect hosts, Discreet yet friendly and they even left a bottle of wine for my partner on his birthday as well as giving us some Maris piper potatoes to try. On arrival, there were warm scones with butter and jam waiting for us. Really thoughtful and generous people. This was a five star experience!!!
This accommodation was superb and felt fresh, clean and homely from the start. The views from every window show the surrounding countryside with the front glassed area being the best. There is everything you need, plus extra like binoculars, radio, biscuits for dog etc. A lot of thought and time has been put into making the accommodation what it is. The owners are lovely people, nothing is too much trouble and they are always on hand to help and advise and they go above and beyond what is expected. Around the area there are plenty of sightseeing places such as Glamis Castle and grounds, Crombie and Monikie Parks, Dundee with the new V and G building, St Andrews, Montrose, Arbroath and the abbey to mention a few. Recommend going to a farm not far away - Cornkist as they do wonderful food and deserts with a farm shop selling other products. It is very well maintained and managed and again the staff are friendly and obliging. There is a field opposite the property for those who need to walk their dogs. We just loved this place and will return in the future for another break. Just fantastic.
