0 west street The front of the house really doesn’t give away what’s hidden behind Great points ……. Stunning kitchen- big Smeg range, huge fridge freezer, plenty of crockery, tray with more variations of teabags than I’ve ever seen, fabulous table that can be extended if a full house Living room- good size room, big tv Bedrooms- amazing sizes, gorgeous linen, towels on every bed Hair dryer provided on each floor Fantastic dishwasher, with tablets provided Cupboard under sink full of cleaning products if you need them Easy to use Washer/dryer which is ideal if you go on long walks & get muddy Main bathroom- gorgeous, huge free standing bath, ideal for soaking away a busy day Parking- across the road residents only , you get two parking permits If you have dogs two large grates are provided along with various blankets etc Good secure courtyard area real sun trap great for dogs for your dogs, ideal if you need to bath them after beach escapades Fabulous tables chairs & big parasols Great location, easy short walk to beaches, pubs etc Not so great ….. Kitchen- no toaster, info pack mentions microwave ..where? Lights on cooker hood don’t work Living room- sofas really uncomfortable, causing back issues when try to relax & watch tv, definitely not enough seating if house full ..tv would be better on fireplace wall then at least one arm chair could fit in.. although the idea would be a corner sofa along window & couple of chairs on opposite side allowing everyone to watch tv together Main bathroom, sink tap is really in the wrong place too close to the wall, meaning you can’t turn in on fully, could benefit from having a magnifying/shaving mirror Primary bedroom/ bathroom …. We couldn’t use it due to mould, which was a real shame as this is the room with fabulous views..we contacted the owner as soon as we arrived & provided photos as she had messaged on day of arrival to say there was a “bit” of a condensation problem but it was being dealt with, it had clearly been a problem for a while there, given the extent of the mould there was no way owner knew how bad it was as she is about 3hrs away so relies on housekeeper ! Hairdryers provided however significant lack of mirrors, a dressing table or chest of drawers with wall mirror close to socket would be ideal Big cupboard containing board games/ cards etc would fit well on top landing great if weather is inclement You have to leave a £250 housekeeping deposit but when we arrived we found various areas that hadn’t been touched & took date marked photos to prove it wasn’t us Would have taken our dog through the rear access gate as advised but couldn’t open it , so muddy/sandy dog had to be walked through the house Couldn’t open the top of back door, key didn’t work Clothes airer provided but only has 3 legs ! Smoke alarms have been removed Fire extinguishers/fire blanket should be out not hidden in a cupboard Personal post shouldn’t be just sat in cupboard No dustpan & brush No extra toilet roll Windows can be tricky to close Blind winders are hard work House could do with a bit of colour , washable paint would aid keeping house clean in case of dog marks (we love the blue in the hall/ stairwells) Would have loved a retractable washing line in the courtyard rather than having to hang stuff on the one provided out of sight. Courtyard clearly not touched very often, broken children’s buckets , piles of leaves that blocked part of drain (I moved them) Outside lights don’t work ( an inside switch would be better so you could put light on if dog going out in the middle of the night ) Out of owners control .. noisy neighbours We kept saying we felt sorry for the owners, they have clearly spent a huge amount of money on the house only to be let down by housekeepers Although we appear to be very critical, everything mentioned could easily be rectified this is a HUGE house in an ideal location for a holiday with large groups or just a couple & a dog
