A cold January day outside but inside Pheasant Cottage was warm and cosy, with a log burner left ready to light and fleece throws available though they weren't needed as the cottage was so warm. Extra heaters were available too. The welcome pack of tea, coffee, bread, jams, milk, butter, eggs and chocolate was a very nice touch. The owners were very welcoming and made sure we had all we needed. The picturesque villages surrounding the cottage, as well as spectacular views of the moors made this a perfect choice for a relaxing break away. I would definitely recommend this and look forward to going back there. The trip to Whitby from nearby Danby on the Esk Valley Railway was very enjoyable and is not to be missed.
