This is a very old cottage with fabulous character It’s warm spacious and clean. Plenty of linen and towels. Beds re comfy and there’s plenty of storage space Internally we could not complain at all It’s 1.1 km to the beach and an easy gentle wander down the lane by the cottage. Externally yes, the garden wall is low But that’s what it is. Our only disappoint is the fact that the garden is going through some redesign and was full of tiles and rusty furniture Once it’s done it will be fabulous, We weren’t put off by this and will be booking again in the autumn
Arrived for a 5 night stay and left after 1! Found the house to be dirty and horrified to find clear evidence of mice! The unhygienic conditions, with clear health and safety implications included: mouse faeces (in my dog bowl 40 minutes after arrival - leading us to store all food in our car overnight), dirty kitchen cupboards/equipment (more droppings) and grubby household items, live ants and flies throughout the property. There were multiple plugged in vermin repellant devices, situated in the kitchen and upstairs. The owner said they would send someone to sort the problem, I was asked if it was OK to put poison down, absolutely not. While my dog may not find a baited trap it was quite possible he would find a dead or dying poisoned mouse! After a two day debate with the agent and owner, we were eventually moved to alternative accommodation (not before I had to pay for an overnight stay elsewhere). I could write more about this discussion and events but I have chosen not too. Could be a lovely coach house but sadly it has been severely neglected and requires a thorough deep clean and visit from pest control.
Stayed August dirty cottage. Dust and very bad equipment !! Dirty glasses etc had to clean things before we could use !! Overgrown garden Overgrown parking , passenger can’t get out of car up driveway . Pots in garden full of weeds and nettles . Needs upgrading of vitually all equipment .
