Firies is a small village nestled in lush green countryside, just a short drive from the vibrant holiday town of Killarney. The gateway to Ireland's beautiful south west, Firies is an oasis of calm, boasting mountain views and the famous Gap of Dunloe as a backdrop. The area has a very rural feel, dotted with sheep and dairy farms, and is also on the beautiful Ring of Kerry route. Killarney is within easy reach, with its many attractions and summer festivals, while further afield you can enjoy the scenic attractions of Kerry and West Cork. Dingle is also well worth a visit, renowned for its lovely beaches, cliffs and Fungie the dolphin, who has been drawing in tourists from all over for a number of years!
County Kerry is a mystical and unspoilt part of Ireland, with spectacular natural beauty and a fascinating history. Facing the Atlantic Ocean, it features many sandy beaches, rocky inlets and stunning peninsulas.
I've been to kerry a number of times over the last 25 years and this has to be the best house we've stayed in. Beautiful house, beautiful grounds and plenty of rooms. Everything was there that we needed. Enjoyed it so much would recommend it to anyone. The owners were very nice could not fault anything Thank you Paul &Rosemary Dornan and family
The house...wow. This house was super..everything you need ... 6 bedrooms, 3 toilets. A big living room and garage..an amazing kitchen. The views were spectacular... 10/10. Myself and my family had a lovely time there...we visited puck fair in killorglin...the aqua dom and Banna beach in Tralee...Crag cave's.....Kilarney . We meet the Pony and Emu's down the road Differently recommend 10/10.
We really enyoed our stay in this wonderful house. We stayed with two families en this house is very suitable for this purpose with plenty of room, nice bedrooms and enough bathrooms! Really nice kitchen with lovely window seat! The kitchen is the hart of the house! The views of the Kerry mountains on a clear and sunny day are beautiful. Location is good for Dingle and the ring of Kerry. Even the cliffs of Moher are doable on a nice day out. Joan, our host, was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!
We were astonished by the magnificent interior and the architecture of the house. It is so specious, had all the facilities needed and was so charming that none of us wanted to leave. Joan was so kind, she responded fast and tried to help when needed. The rooms were decorated with a huge love for details and a lovely Irish touch. We loved the kitchen most, since six adults were able to cook, chat and laugh there together. We had little trouble regulating the heating, but it worked out for us in the end. The scenery outside the house was more than fantastic. We woke up to the most beautiful view of the Kerry countryside, with horses and cows on the fields. Here we faced the Ireland that everyone is dreaming of. We remained speechless.... All our kids loved exploring and playing in the house and they were extremely sad to leave this place. However, we all gathered wonderful memories in this memorable place.
We had a fabulous stay here. It was just perfect. Joan was a great host welcoming us with biscuits and an apple tart and always a phone call away if needed. The house was so spacious for our family of 7 adults and 2 kids. The kids loved the play house in the garden but the icing on the cake for them was the emus and alpacas down the road. We truly enjoyed our stay and we can't wait to visit again.
We stayed for a week here in August and had an amazing time in this truly spectacular home. The home is remote however within easy access to so many of Kerry’s beautiful towns and beaches. Koans and Pete the hosts couldn’t have been more helpful or welcoming. The house is suitable for kids and adults alike, we all had a ball and it’s a truly special home. Can’t wait to visit again.
A great big huge thank you to Joan and Pete, the owners. This house was breathtaking. We have loved every single minute of being in this house, it’s big enough to share and not get in each other’s way. We are a family booking of 6 adults and 2 little ones aged 3 & 6. They have loved every minute. The kitchen is so cozy and both the living room areas have open fires, just so cozy sitting listening to the crackle. You are very remote so car hire is a must. We have visited, Muckross House, we did the Ring of Kerry drive, visited Dingle Bay, Inch Bay, and the Waterfalls. There are plenty of supermarkets around about a 15 min drive so you can go shopping and stock up. Killarney has lots of shops and bars too. I have always been told how beautiful this place is but until you come you really can’t imagine just how, without seeing it for yourself. This house made our stay simply perfect
