Surrounded by fantastic countryside on the doorstep, this beautiful cottage offers great accommodation for a couple who are looking for a relaxing and romantic retreat and is an ideal base for you to explore this wonderful part of Wales. Here time passes you by at a more leisurely pace, and after a long day walking in the hills or a day on the beach you can return to this peaceful little bit of heaven on earth and simply relax. An enclosed, private courtyard at the rear is south-facing and enjoys the sun for most of the day, ideal for that morning coffee, relaxing brunch or dining alfresco in the evening. There is also a working farm attached to the property where, during the spring months, you will be able to witness lambing. Yr Hen Beudy provides a perfect base with lots of walks from the cottage, including the Welsh Coastal path on the doorstep, and just a short drive away you can visit Bird's Rock in the beautiful Dysynni Valley or Cader Idris. There are miles of sweeping sandy beaches at Tywyn and Fairbourne, all just a short drive away, or explore the towns of Dolgellau, Barmouth and Aberdovey, all within easy reach. There are some wonderful bike trails and mountain biking facilities if you fancy something a little more energetic or enjoy the sights from the saddle! with horse riding at the nearby stables in Fairbourne, just 7 miles away, plus you have the stunning Snowdonia National Park to explore. Whatever you decide to do and how you spend your day, one thing is certain you'll love returning to this gorgeous cottage at the end of the day. There is so much to see and do in the area, you'll be planning your return before you've even left!
The village of Rhoslefain, stands on the Dysynni Valley, at the southern end of the Snowdonia National Park, an area renowned for sea and mountain views. 9 miles away is the village of Aberdovey, popular for its beaches, sailing and golf course. Aberdovey is referred to as an "artist's paradise" with its pastel cottages, small shops, inns and restaurants. The village boasts fine beaches with 4 miles of sand dune-backed shoreline running north to Tywyn, a Victorian town with a promenade, putting green, leisure centre, restaurants, cafés and fish and chip shops. The beaches are popular with sunbathers, swimmers, surfers and fishermen, while the estuary attracts watersports enthusiasts. The peaks of the Cader Idris and Aran Fawddwy are within reach and are complemented by the Dovey and Dysynni valleys nearby. An ideal area for walkers, climbers, beachcombers and wildlife watchers, this artists' paradise is a wonderful year-round coastal location.
