Within 1.8 miles, you will find a shop, and within 1.7, a pub. One well-behaved dog is allowed, but smoking and vaping are not. Choose The Folly for a unique setting for your romantic getaway. The Folly is a “small but perfectly formed” property that will allow you to relax in the quiet of the Herefordshire countryside or go exploring to see some of the unspoilt towns and sites of the Marches. The Folly was built simply as a decorative feature to an ornate garden and is now approached by a short walk through a small vineyard, but the property has now been renovated with much thought being given to making the most of the available space, having been compared to a perfect dolls house! The upgrading includes a mini kitchen, with a combi microwave and induction hob, a relaxing settee, also a TV, DVD player and WiFi. When you walk in, it does not feel at small because of the large gothic shaped door and windows, and you will find a narrow spiral staircase to the bedroom where there is a comfortable bed and separate WC and shower, and though features and furniture are small, everything is interesting, unusual and finished to a very high standard. Outside is a large patio, planted with all edible plants, a table, chairs, BBQ and a large summer house, originally built to compliment the Folly, which are all available for guests. The Folly is within the grounds of Arrow Cottage yet is completely separate and private, being situated on a very quiet lane, the surroundings of fields, orchards and wooded hills makes this a beautiful quiet place to unwind. If you enjoy walking, a 30 minute walk takes you into the picturesque village of Weobley, the “Jewel in the Crown” of the black and white villages where you can visit the pub the Salutation or enjoy a coffee or lunch at Green Bean or Jules. More energetic walks include the Offa's Dyke footpath, the Wye Valley footpath and the Brecon Beacons are all close by, you’ll also be just 15 minutes from the River Wye which offers fishing and canoeing. For shopping there are the historic towns of Ledbury and Ludlow, both of which boast architecturally interesting buildings, including Ludlow Castle, and also many independent shops. In Hereford you will find the usual mainstream shops and also Hereford Cathedral which houses the Mappa Mundi. About 20 minute drive away is the world famous town of Hay on Wye which hosts the annual literary festival as well as the greatest number of bookshops you are ever likely to find in one town. Also, within a short drive are many gardens including Stockton Bury which has just been shortlisted as one of the top NGS gardens in the country, and The National Trust properties of Berrington Court and Brockhampton, are short drive away. All in all the Folly is a relaxing and unusual property to from which to explore the rural tranquility of Herefordshire.

The folly is a comfortable quirky place, full of character with great hosts. location is great as easy access to Hereford, yet completely in the countryside. the folly has all the amenities for a short stay. cannot recommend highly enough and will be re booking.
Light and airy with comfy bed and settee. The sink in the bathroom is merely a corner handbasin, so gents, either grow a beard or take an electric razor. The bathroom is so small that when you 'sit' the toilet seat falls onto your back. The shower is good. Both the size of the bathroom and the extremely tight spiral staircase to access that are NOT suitable for anyone who is either overweight, not particularly agile or with poor sight. An accident waiting to happen? The combo oven is literally 2 inches above the floor - not suitable for those with poor sight or agility, unless you like kneeling on the floor to read dials and check cooking progress. Jim, the host was friendly on arrival, he makes good bread for breakfast.
The Folly is absolutely beautiful , we spent two weeks and the lay out works brilliantly. Dog friendly too , Jim and Annie top hosts . Nothing too much trouble , a wonderful welcome basket , home made delights - plus bread and jam every three days ! So much to see and do in the area too , we walked lots , from the Folly lots of varied walks through maize fields , orchards or forest . Further afield huge choice also . whatever your holiday fancy , this county has it all . In Weobley there are a couple of fab eateries - Jules does a great take out and also the Bean Cafe , whole food veggie . Dilwyn locally also does great food in The Crown and also the churches in each village well worth a visit . We spent most of our time though in the Folly , as secluded , in a vine yard and with a spectacular garden .... which is open to walk around .
