Mevagissey is a village and fishing port nestled in Cornwall, England. Home to a number of traditional pubs/restaurants and a supermarket for all of your amenities. Choose to visit any of the nearby sandy beaches for a relaxing afternoon, or venture further afield and visit the popular tourist attractions of The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden Project, both well-worth the visit.
I can’t believe the reviews on here ! The apartment is right next to the harbour and anyone that lives by the sea knows you need a dehumidifier, for fire safety reasons you are meant to have a self locking door so just incase you need to get out quick you don’t have to search for the key to unlock, when we stayed it was great no issues and the door has now got a thumbnail lock ! Which I guess the owners had to fit due to guests locking themselves out and leaving the key on the inside lock which is of no fault of the owner or property as even if had used the spare key it would not of opened. we will definitely be back
We stayed for 4 nights last week. The apartment is ideally placed but has no parking which we knew about. There are 2 electric dehumidifiers & 6 temporary ones so obviously there is a problem with damp. The noise is unbearable on 1 of the electric ones but there is a notice that says not to turn it off. We had to otherwise we would not have been able to sleep. The door! The door has a handle on the outside that moves up & down. It is not a pull to. Therefore we assumed we could get back in after shutting it. Wrong! We telephoned the Owners who sent the cleaners husband round to try and fix it but he couldn't. The Owners then gave us 2 phone numbers of Locksmiths, who they didn't know, and left it up to us to call them and arrange for them to come and look at the door. People who were living in the apartments behind were walking past us and all of them said 'You've been locked out this is always happening' and that they had even seen someone breaking in through the window because of the door. 6 hours later and after having to pay the Locksmith £252 we managed to get into the apartment. He was a local Locksmith & said if we had phoned him he would only have charged us £100 We tried to get the Owners to pay for the lock but they were simply not interested & insisted it was our fault. We told them that they should put a notice on the door so it didn't happen to other guests. Apparently it was in the welcome book but who reads that immediately upon walking in. I am most upset with the Owners as they had no interest in helping us and really they should have a list of local workmen that they can call upon if needed. After all we were suppose to be on holiday.

The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
