Blaenau Ffestiniog is a historic old slate town resting in an extremely desirable spot from which to explore the splendour of Snowdonia National Park. The town hosts a good selection of shops, pubs and eateries, as well as boasting the wonderful attractions of the Zip World Slate Caverns, the slate mines, and the Ffestiniog Mountain Railway letting you explore the National Park in a different way. With access to Porthmadog, Bala, Bangor and Colwyn Bay too, there's so much to explore here!
Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Bannau Brychein (Brecon Beacons) National Park and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
Visited end of September as a last minute trip with our 14month old lab. We had a fabulous time, cottage is really lovely, well equipped, and in a beautiful location with rolling mountains. The river directly outside is soooo relaxing, feel a bit lost without its white noise now!!!! Excellent base for exploring lots of different locations throughout the north, it's about an hour away from most places! Perfect! Diolch yn fawr!!
We spent an excellent week here. The house is lovely, well-equipped and in a great location. You are close to mountains and beaches. We had everything we needed and felt so comfortable. You can explore in every direction. I can’t recommend this house enough.
Spent a week here at the end of June and absolutely loved it. Comfortable, clean and plenty of space. The fire was great in the evening and we were left wood to use which we replaced for the next guests (because that's the nice thing to do). The location was great, plenty of walks to do, quiet surrounding areas but a short enough drive to busier towns/attractions if you preferred. Will absolutely book again.
This lovely, peaceful holiday spot was easily reached by train and a short walk. Gorgeous walks from the back door of the cottage, together with good train and bus links have helped us to have a lovely and varied stay. The cottage is very well equipped, cosy and clean. We would definitely stay again.

Had a wonderful long weekend here,beautiful/cosy house with fantastic areas around for walking.Only a 5 minute walk and you are at the bottom of some superb waterfalls and mountains. Definitely returning with my family and would highly recommend.
