This property is in a beautiful spot and has a lot of potential. The kitchen seems to be relatively newly fitted and was fairly clean. From here, however, we were quite disappointed. The following issues need to be addressed for the next people spending money on a stay at this cottage: - the downstairs radiators do not work, leaving the lounge and kitchen feeling cold and not cosy to sit in. - there are no blinds or curtains on the windows or large double doors in the lounge, or the windows in the kitchen, so at night you have lots of black windows staring at you and it feels drafty and exposed. - there are also no blinds in the upstairs bathroom, and the shower is right by the window. We had to pile cushions in front of the window to feel safe to shower. - sadly, the house is sorely in need of a deep clean. The kitchen looked fairly clean, but everything else is covered in dust, grime and cobwebs. The carpets upstairs clearly haven't been hoovered in a long time. The hoover provided in the utility room is ancient and broken so we couldn't even do it ourselves. - the WiFi didn't work. No-one could connect to it. - the wardrobe in the main bedroom is not fixed to the wall and easily falls forward, it nearly fell on my father in law! So we had to keep our young children out of that room. - there is a funny toiletish smell in the smallest bedroom with the twin single beds. It seemed to be coming from one of the duvets. - the tap in the kitchen sink wobbles around and is almost coming off. - a number of the bedroom lamps are broken. This could be an excellent property but it sorely needs some care and attention. A complete freshen up makeover and a very deep clean! There are some odd choices of decor too - a scary wooden sculpture in the lounge and some macabre paintings on the walls scared my sensitive seven year old, who found the house very creepy and wanted to leave immediately! Also, an important note regarding access - there are some slippy awkward stone steps from the drive up to the garden, which we weren't aware of. There is a disabled member of our party who found these tricky to navigate. Such a shame, as there is a lot of potential here. But it is a neglected property.
