Reviews

Great location for walking the coast line around North Berwick. Cottage is in a lovely setting and has a homely feel. They have kept a lot of character in the cottage, although some updating would be beneficial ie an updated bathroom. The toilet made a very loud 'singing' when flushed so woke us in the night. The shower screen was broken which meant the bathroom flooded each time the shower was used. The garden has such potential to have great views and a good social space but was overgrown and had no usable garden furniture. We have 2 dogs and the garden was very secure for them, which was peace of mind for us. Although there was a welcome pack of milk and biscuits and flowers, there wasn't any washing up liquid/dish cloth or hand soap. Access after 5.00pm which means trekking out to get essentials from the nearest shop over 5 miles away was not an option after a long drive. It's such a shame these little things overshadowed what a beautiful cottage it is. We only paid just over £700 when we booked it last year so we'd say it's good value for money- if we'd have paid much more we would've been very disappointed. We'd definitely return if these few issues were addressed.

Just back from a week at this cottage and it is in a nice location and safe garden for my 2 dogs but in other ways was disappointing! Even with electric heating and log burners it was still cold! You expect a few basics left for you but a few grains of salt in a grinder was a bit mean. Welcome pack was a pint of milk and a few shortbread fingers. The washing machine leaked on the Mon and all week no one came near to check on it despite leaving the owners a message! Advertised basic wifi but more like non existent and no mobile signal! Very cut off. Not very impressed. Wont be back.
