Hosting two bedrooms, including a king-size double and twin, plus a bathroom, this cottage can sleep four people. There is also an open-plan sitting room upstairs, including a kitchen, dining and sitting area. To the outside is a slate patio with seating, providing exceptional lake views. Off-road parking for two cars is also available. Grassholme is a fine base for family orientated or romantic getaways.

This cosy retreat is dressed in a light décor with plenty of homely touches, making it a welcoming base for families or couples looking to explore the Lake District. The kitchen is well-equipped to ensure the simple preparation of delicious meals which can be enjoyed at the dining table, perhaps accompanied with a well-deserved glass of wine. Snuggle up in the sitting area with the woodburning stove roaring away, enjoying a family movie amidst your loved ones. Once the evening draws to a close, retire to the ground floor and find two bedrooms, including a king-size double with zip/link flexibility and a twin, which are both beautifully presented. Completing the interior of Grassholme is the elegant bathroom with bath and shower over, giving you the choice how you wish to prepare for the day. Outside is a fabulous natural slate patio area which provides unbeatable views over Lake Windermere, making it the perfect spot to enjoy an evening drink or alfresco meal. After a day full of activity, Grassholme cottage will be awaiting your return.

The ancient village of Hawkshead holds a collection of white-washed cottages, archways and squares beloved by Wiiliam Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. There are many pleasant inns, guest houses, team shops and gift shops. Most notably, the village is home to Beatrix Potter Gallery, which displays an annually changing exhibition of the famous author’s illustrations and stories.

Gas central heating with woodburning stove. Electric oven and induction hob, electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher. TV, WiFi. Shared use of estate facilities inc. indoor heated swimming pool and table tennis room (please bring your own racquets and balls). Fuel, power and a starter pack of logs for woodburning stove inc. in rent. Logs can be purchased at the farm shop. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Off-road parking for 2 cars. Patio with seating. Two well-behaved dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop 5 miles, pub 3.8 miles. Graythwaite fishery is free for all guests and equipment can be hired locally, a small fee is applicable to keep your catch, rod fishing license required. Please Note: Minimum 3 night stay. The swimming pool can be booked for 45 minute private sessions, All guests can pre-book up to a maximum of 3 swimming slots ( or 2 slots for short stays 2 and 3 nights ) 7 days prior to arrival by contacting [email protected]
